World Shorebird Day

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 8TH 2018

MEET AT MOLLIE BEATTY COASTAL HABITAT COMMUNITY AT 7:00 AM

World Shorebird Day is an event that celebrates shorebirds, and raises awareness of the importance of protecting bird populations and their habitats. During this event participants will meet at Mollie Beatty, then we will drive to multiple sites around the Corpus Christi area counting and observing different species shorebirds. We will also learn about important migration and wintering habitats along the coastal bend.

Participants will begin at 7:00 am at Mollie Beatty Coastal Habitat
Community located where Mustang and South Padre Islands meet, off Hwy
361 (Access Rd. 3), Corpus Christi, Texas.  From there we will drive
to several sites around the area to observe and count the different
species of shorebirds.  We will learn from our trip leaders about
important migration and wintering habitats along the Coastal Bend.

World Shorebird Day is an event that celebrates shorebirds, and
raises awareness of the importance of protecting shorebird
populations and their habitats. This year's event coincides with
another eBird Global Big Day, so our sightings will serve dual
purposes!
